Direct-to-wall printing applies ink straight onto a wall using a vertical inkjet printer. The printer sits in front of the wall on a track and lays down a thin layer of UV-cured ink, which hardens on contact. The image becomes part of the wall surface. There is no film, no adhesive, and no material applied on top of the wall.

Vinyl is a pre-printed adhesive sheet pressed onto the wall. Wall printing puts ink directly on the surface. The practical differences: vinyl needs a smooth surface and fails on texture, while printed ink follows the surface contour. Vinyl has visible seams on large graphics, while a print has none. Vinyl is removed by picking, peeling, and repairing the drywall underneath. A printed graphic is removed with a coat of paint.

A printed wall graphic is also roughly 0.015 mm thick, so there is no edge to feel or catch.

Drywall, including textured drywall, brick, concrete, cinder block, wood, glass, metal, stone, plaster, and most tile. The printer uses a laser sensor that reads the wall surface continuously and adjusts the printhead depth in real time, so it handles surface variation up to about 4 inches.

If it is a vertical surface and it is reasonably clean, it can usually be printed.

Yes. Brick is one of the surfaces where direct-to-wall printing has the clearest advantage over vinyl, because vinyl cannot adhere to mortar lines and irregular texture. The laser tracking keeps the printhead at a constant distance as it crosses the uneven surface, so the image stays sharp across the whole wall.

No. The ink is water-based with zero VOCs and cures instantly under integrated UV-LED light, so there is no solvent smell and no off-gassing period. The wall is finished the moment the printer moves away.

We have printed in occupied schools, hospitals, and offices without shutting them down. In most cases the only thing that needs to happen is clearing a few feet of floor in front of the wall.

Most projects finish in a single day. Actual print time depends on square footage, resolution, and how much ink coverage the artwork requires. A logo wall is usually a few hours. A large mural can take most of a day.

Standard print height is 8 feet in a single pass, extendable to 18 feet with axis extensions. Print width is unlimited, since the printer moves along a rail system and continues the image as it goes.

Pricing varies by project size, surface, artwork complexity, and site conditions. As a general range:

• Small projects run $500 to $4,000. A single logo wall, a conference room, or a feature wall in a small business.
• Medium projects run $4,000 to $10,000. Multiple walls, a full lobby, or a large mural.
• Large projects run $10,000 to $100,000 and up. Full-building graphics packages, long corridors, multi-floor installations, and institutional work.

Indoor prints hold up for 12 or more years. The ink is water and scratch resistant the moment it cures. We include a 5-year standard warranty.

Yes, and that is the intended removal method. A single coat of paint covers a printed graphic. There is no stripping, no residue, and no drywall repair. If you want a new design in the same spot, we can paint over the old one and print the new one the same day.

No, but you can. Bring print-ready artwork and we will print it. If you do not have artwork, our in-house design team will develop something for the space.

Either way, you see a digital proof on your actual wall elevation before anything gets printed.

Up to 1,200 DPI, which is photographic. The printer uses Ricoh piezoelectric printheads with full CMYK and an optional white channel, and the files are ICC-profiled so color stays consistent across the entire run.

Yes. The ink is water-based, certified vegan, and ISO-certified, with zero VOCs and no off-gassing. The space is safe for occupancy immediately. This is why direct-to-wall printing works in hospitals and schools where vinyl installation would require scheduling around occupancy.

By a wide margin on material volume. A 60 square foot vinyl graphic brings about 5.4 pounds of PVC film into the building, and that film is not recyclable. The same area printed directly uses roughly 0.13 pounds of ink, about a quarter cup, with no waste stream.
